Welcome to the ESL classroom!
As an ESL teacher I have the pleasure of working with students whose first language is not English. I am responsible for helping students improve their vocabulary and comprehension. One of the ways of teaching our ESL students is through the use of role playing, using gestures, showing real objects, pointing to things, pictures, and using the Spanish equivalent and then asking students to say the words in English. Teaching ESL students reading comprehension is fun, my students and I make it fun. I enjoy creating opportunities where we can all interact reading simple articles.
One of my greatest pleasure as an ESL teacher is the meaningful connections that I make with my students, parents and peers.Working for Harlem Heights Community is a wonderful and rewarding experience that brings me joy every single day.
